Specification
KEY ROLE:

• The role will be as an Assistant Consultant within the air quality team based in Johannesburg, although working on projects nationally.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare for and undertake fieldwork, inclusive of dust fallout, meteorological and particulate monitoring, passive sampling, active sampling, acoustic monitoring, and water sampling
• Process and format ambient monitoring data, inclusive of meteorological, dust fallout and particulate matter
• Compile ambient air quality monitoring reports
• Compile acoustic monitoring reports
• Management and planning of fieldwork, including the completion of all health & safety requirements, both with regards to WSP requirements as well as client requirements
• Compilation of baseline assessments
• Providing assistance to the broader WSP E&E business

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Minimum of 1-year experience in air quality consulting, including fieldwork
• Minimum 3-year relevant degree
• Experience in ambient monitoring, data management, and verification and reporting


KEY COMPETENCIES AND GENERIC SKILLS:

• Experience in ambient monitoring (dust fallout, particulate, meteorological, passive sampling and acoustic monitoring)
• Knowledge of the South African environmental/air quality legislation
• Technical report writing skills including the ability to produce professional reports in fluent English
• Technical skills to manage, verify and analyze monitoring data
